Abstract

Currently, biomedical prostheses in Huancayo have an exorbitant price, which is not accessible to vulnerable populations, this due to the delay that exists in the province in the prosthesis sector, it is worrying to see so many accidents where the upper limb is lost or due to congenital causes is increasing.

Due to this we develop this incentive project, which is based on a technological platform that manages to design and produce prostheses of arms and hands, with the expected standards. The prosthesis, as an artificial element that is integrated into the body in order to completely or partially replace a segment of a deficient or absent member. However, technological advances over time and today, has led to innovative advances that surprise the general population, because it is well known that the loss of a hand, arm or leg causes problems for the person to reintegrate to society in an appropriate way; However, today, amputee patients can be allowed to replace these losses with prosthetic devices without losing functionality and comfort, even being able to equip themselves with superior capabilities to natural ones.

The biomedical arm prostheses base their operation on the detection of proximity of the tendons by means of the infrared reluctance sensor that is located on the skin, measuring the distances through algorithms, which in the end will result in mechanical movements. From this observation, our purpose is to show society a prototype under which it has been possible to develop cutting-edge technology in the area of design, manufacturing and cost, emphasizing the latter and asking ourselves, if it is accessible.
