Microcertificaciones y Educación Superior
Resumen
Las microcertificaciones han surgido como una alternativa para contribuir al cierre de brecha entre las competencias requeridas y disponibles en el mercado laboral. Diversas organizaciones están otorgando mayor relevancia en los procesos de selección a las microcertificaciones más que a los títulos oficiales. A la fecha la incorporación de microcertificaciones en la educación superior (ES) se encuentra en etapas tempranas, y si bien la oferta se ha incrementado, aún no se ha desplegado todo el potencial que tienen. El propósito del presente documento, es a partir de revisión de literatura identificar las ventajas y limitaciones de las microcertificaciones, y comprender cuál es el papel, las condiciones y retos que la ES deben considerar en la oferta. Los resultados, evidencian que la oferta de microcertificaciones en la ES no son una tendencia sino una necesidad, que exige el cumplimiento de condiciones académicas y administrativas, así como superar retos como el establecimiento de criterios y métodos transparentes de evaluación de competencias.
