The Transdisciplinary Approach in Higher Education to Enhance Employability and Job Placement
Abstract
The contribution highlights how the transdisciplinary approach—by demanding the abandonment of any segmentation between disciplines and, therefore, between levels of knowledge—represents a challenge for universities to take advantage of modern complexity and train future professionals from a perspective that allows them to enter and develop in a constantly changing world of work. According to the authors, in fact, this approach, which recognizes, explores, and connects the most varied forms of expression of the potential of human intelligence, can represent a key skill for the labor market integration of university students, guaranteeing both their personal development and their professional orientation. Through the survey of some experiences, the authors seek to generate reflection and subsequent debate on these possibilities. Higher education institutions, through collaborative and transdisciplinary work, are responsible for training individuals who contribute to the sustainable development of countries and society as a whole.
